Acrylic Sheets, Felt, LED
Catatumbo draws inspiration from an electric phenomenon that occurs where the Catatumbo river meets Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela, commonly thought to be one of the most electric places on earth. The slight variation in water and sky is symbolic of the mirroring that occurs between Victor and the Creature. Although the light interacts differently in each half of the composition, both are bound by the golden line of electricity, similar to how Victor and the Creature are tied together despite themselves. This 1:1, bespoke light sculpture can be displayed both on and off and requires an outlet to function.
