From Book to Screen: A Literary Cocktail Evening

“The book was better.” Or was it?
Join Lit Society for From Book to Screen—a literary cocktail evening exploring the stories that live both on the page and on the screen, hosted by Lit Club NYC's Kelly Chervin.
This is not just a night out. It’s a gathering designed for readers and cultural observers to debate, dissect, and reimagine the adaptations that shape how we experience stories today.
Over cocktails and light bites, we’ll move through the world of literary adaptation—from what makes a story translate to screen, to why certain narratives resonate across mediums. With insight from industry insiders, we’ll explore the invisible decisions behind what gets adapted, what gets changed, and what gets lost—or found—in the process.
This is an evening for those who have strong opinions about the book and the movie—and know the conversation is where it gets interesting.
