Sebastián Espejo’s atmospheric paintings transform Austen’s landscapes into meditations on memory, distance, and emotion. In Hazy Morning, the London-based Spanish painter captures Elizabeth’s walks through the countryside in a palette of dusky pinks, earthy reds, and softened greens. Painted with oil and cold wax, the landscape seems to dissolve at its edges. A subtle window ledge frames the scene, turning the landscape into both a view outward and a reminder of the shelter of home.
