While the White Knight in Looking-Glass is often thought to be a stand-in for Lewis Carroll himself, Isabella reimagines the character as a symbol of Alice’s growing autonomy. Clothed in the Knight’s armor, Alice claims agency over her narrative. Her posture is both triumphant and graceful, her kind heart embodied by the delicate pink flower that rests in her outstretched hand. This is Alice’s story after all.
