In Mr. Darcy Only, Stephanie Rado Taormina (New York and Wyomissing, PA) captures the disorienting thrill of an unexpected arrival. Inspired by the moment Elizabeth opens the door to find Darcy standing alone, the painting unfolds in a rush of moving sky, confident greens, and white ribbons that suggest a pathway or a held breath. Working quickly in acrylic on paper, Taormina translates the sudden rearrangement of a room, a feeling, and a possibility.
