Alexander “Gino” Gaggino transforms Doctor T. J. Eckleburg’s iconic billboard into a surreal meditation on God, judgment, and foolishness. The work captures the paradox at the heart of Gatsby: a story seemingly godless, yet haunted by an all-seeing presence that never intervenes. Inspired by Basquiat, Bosch, and the underground energy of his own background as a DJ and party host, Gino’s biomorphic forms vibrate with both ecstasy and unease.
