Pyre

In Pyre, Sam departs from the bright blue of the previous pieces and uses the tannins from black tea to capture this warm brown color. The Creature’s funeral pyre burns brightly, interrupting the arctic landscape where we once again find ourselves. While Sam’s Sledge on the Horizon shows the Creature small and distanced, here his pyre is front and center, a blazing and finite conclusion to his story.
