Sheyda Mehrara captures the dissolution of dreams at the end of Gatsby and Nick’s sobering realization that he must return to the authentic groundedness of his Midwestern origins. Like autumn leaves that blaze amber before falling, this work mirrors the unraveling of relationships at the novel’s close. Autumn’s deep tones—greens fading to brown, blues with a touch of gray, and whites edged with chill—become a meditation on endings, memory, and the clarity that comes with change.
